The root and grass of Khus play a major role in making Ruh Khus – The root of Khus is extracted in Kannauj, which is called the perfume city of Uttar Pradesh and from here begins the making of that fragrance of nature which is popular all over the world – It is not just a perfume but it is also a medicine which has been used for centuries in making Ayurvedic medicines and food.
It is more expensive than other perfumes because a lot of care is taken while making it. It also takes a lot of time to make it. It is made by the method of Deg and Bhapka and its vessel is opened after eighty to ninety days, only then an excellent fragrance comes out.
It is a hundred percent pure natural perfume which is mainly used in summers and its effect is also cold, due to which the heat stays away from our body by just using it and this perfume keeps the mind calm.
It is believed that Lord Shiva likes cold places very much, so he also likes it. It is applied in a way that has a cooling effect, hence the perfume of Ruh Khus is very dear to Lord Shiva and it is applied during the Abhishekam of Lord Shiva in the month of Savan and Shivratri. Many people also use it while making Sharbat.
